Ángel Reyna could be one of the most controversial players to have worn the América shirt and is now in the twilight of his career.
The 35-year-old has been away from the club for nearly a decade but now has one wish before calling it a day on his football life: retire as a member of Club América.
Reyna is a free-agent after being a part of the Veracruz side which disbanded.
“I am seeing if I can continue playing. My idea is to retire in América and play two tournaments, even if I played 10 minutes.
“I want to thank the club that made me, where I met my best friends. They gave me the best stage of my career and my life.
“Everything I am in football, I owe to América.
“Obviously to be able to come back and play for a few minutes I need to be active and we are looking at the possibility.
“I have not spoken to anyone or to the directors. But, I do not lose hope that an approach can be made from both sides.”
