Amid all of the rumours swirling around his potential exit at LOSC Lille, Angel Gomes (24), says he’s only got one thing on his mind right now.

The English midfielder has been linked to several Premier League clubs. Despite the speculation surrounding his future with Les Dogues, Gomes says none of that has crossed his mind.

“I’m aware of clubs enquiring about my situation, but I’m now completely focused on Lille,” Gomes told Fabrizio Romano.

“I want to finish the season in the best way possible, and then we will see what happens, I’m focused on the present and not on negotiations,” he adds.

On Saturday, he was back on the pitch for Lille, replacing Mitchel Bakker for the final 10 minutes of their 2-1 defeat against RC Strasbourg.

That was only his second appearance for Bruno Génésio’s side since sustaining a calf injury late last year, having played 22 minutes in their opening league fixture of 2025 against AJ Auxerre (0-0 draw).

The former Manchester United youth player came to Lille in August 2020 but was immediately loaned to Portuguese side Boavista for that season.

In 2023-24, he was the joint top assist provider in Ligue 1, alongside Romain Del Castillo of Stade Brestois, with each player setting up eight goals for their respective teams domestically.

In 12 Ligue 1 appearances this season, Gomes has just one goal and one assist. A U-17 World Cup winner with England in 2017, Gomes has struggled to stay 100% throughout the season, missing a run of fixtures at the end of 2024. His current deal with Lille is set to expire at the end of the season. There are not yet any signs of an extension being signed.
