Ángel Di María rejoins former club Benfica

Benfica have re-signed their former winger Ángel Di María.

The Argentina international’s career began in earnest with a three-year spell at the Portuguese champions between 2007 and 2010.

After becoming a free agent when his Juventus contract expired, Di María has returned to the Eagles on a 12-month deal.

The former Real Madrid, Manchester United and PSG winger will be officially unveiled at the Estádio da Luz on Thursday.

Di María won the Primeira Liga and two Taça da Liga during his first stint with Benfica, which also included 124 appearances and 15 goals.
