Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has ruled out a possible recall for Leeds United loanee Manor Solomon in this month’s transfer window, despite Spurs’ injury struggles.
Spurs sanctioned summer loans for Solomon and fellow winger Bryan Gil in the summer as Postecoglou believed he had enough depth.
Solomon has been impressive for Leeds since coming out of his hamstring injury in October and has netted four times while assisting four goals in the league.
Gil, who is on his third loan spell in his Tottenham career, is enjoying regular football at Girona with 25 appearances in all competitions in his bag.
Tottenham are riddled with injuries this season and the latest to join the injury list is their forward, Dominic Solanke, who suffered a knee injury ahead of their Europa League game against Hoffenheim on Thursday.
Bringing back Solomon from Leeds especially could have been an attractive option for Postecoglou to turn to, but it would have been a major blow to Daniel Farke’s promotion hopefuls.
But with one word, the Spurs boss has eased any worries which might have lingered around Elland Road.
When asked about whether Tottenham are considering recalling Gil and Solomon, Postecoglou said in a press conference: “No.”
Tottenham are likely to keep young forward Will Lankshear at the club instead of cutting short Solomon or Gil’s loan.
