The New England Revolution have announced the signing of center-back Andrew Farrell to a contract extension.

Farrell's previous deal had expired at the end of 2022, but the Revs have used Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) to sign the defender to a new one-year contract through the 2023 MLS season with options on 2024 and 2025.

The 30-year-old is preparing for his 11th MLS campaign and is New England's all-time record appearance holder, playing 332 times for the club across all competitions to date, lifting the 2021 Supporters' Shield title along the way.

“Andrew Farrell is an important player in our team and has represented the Revolution with the utmost class throughout his decade with the club,” Revolution sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena said in a club press release.

“Andrew’s durability on the field and leadership in the locker room will continue to benefit our team. We are happy to reward Andrew with this new contract.”

Farrell has never missed more than five games in a single season during his MLS career so far, winning the Revolution Defender of the Year award five times via local media voting, including in both 2021 and 2022.

Farrell will be hoping to help the Revs return to the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2023 after missing out last year. They open the new season away at Charlotte FC on February 25.
