Andrés Iniesta has urged Barcelona to secure the long-term future of teammate Sergio Busquets.
Only Gerard Piqué and Lionel Messi will stand alongside Busquets as the remaining men from the Pep Guardiola era of the club once Iniesta departs the club.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the 29-year-old is stalling on a new deal after terms presented to him were deemed unacceptable.
“If Busquets is allowed to leave, it will be a huge mistake for what he means as a player,” Iniesta told RAC1.
“He has many years of football left and I believe that he is fundamental to what we do here.
“I don’t know how things are personally, but it’s not good for the club to leave room for doubt.”
