Spain and Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta is inching closer to hanging up his international boots.
One of the most decorated midfielders to ever play the game, Iniesta has admitted he may retire from international duty after the upcoming World Cup.
“It’s possible the World Cup sees my last appearance for the national team,” the 33-year-old told Cadena SER.
“I do not want to be around and in the team for who I was and what I’ve done in the past.
“I would dream for a final as my World Cup farewell, it’s what we all dream and hopefully that’s how it it’ll be.”
Iniesta’s Barcelona career could also come to an end soon as he is mulling over offers from China.
The club have asked Iniesta to come to a decision over his future by 30th April but, as of yet, he is still thinking over that and whether or not to call it a day for Spain.
