Barcelona midfielder Andrés Iniesta is mulling over a lucrative offer from the Chinese Super League, according to reports in Spain.
Catalan outlet Sport claim Iniesta has been offered an eye-watering €35 million-a-year to sign for Tianjin Quanjian and the 33-year-old will decide whether or not to accept it before the end of March.
The CSL club are understood to have first approached the midfielder back in December but were told he had no interest in leaving Barça during the winter transfer window.
The World Cup winner – who signed an unprecedented life-time contract at Camp Nou last year – has been in good form this season, making 27 appearances in all competitions despite his advancing years. However, he must surely be well aware that an offer of this financial magnitude may never land in his inbox again.
Sport say Iniesta has also been the subject of interest from Major League Soccer and clubs in the United Arab Emirates and if he does decide to leave at the end of the season, Barcelona won’t stand in his way.
Last month, Javier Mascherano left Barcelona for Hebei China Fortune and if Iniesta does end up at Tianjin Quanjian, he will be joining a team coached by Italy legend Fabio Cannavaro and featuring the likes of Alexandre Pato, Alex Witsel and Anthony Modeste.
