Chelsea got destroyed by Real Madrid last night in the Champions League and although there was good moments from the home side and they should have got a lot more from the game, at the back they once again looked totally vulnerable.

Vinicius was having a field day on the wing for Real Madrid and he was absolutely ruining Andreas Christensen every time he went at him.

So much so that Christensen was hauled off and put out of his misery, and Reece James was put in his position.

Christensen is largely rumoured to be joining Barcelona this summer anyway, so it was a surprise to see him starting in a such a huge match.

It was also a surprise to see him doing interviews after the game, because any words he comes out with now is certainly not going to be greeted very positively, but here they are anyway…

“We weren’t at our top level,” Christensen said as reported by the Chelsea website. “We started good for 10 or 15 minutes, good energy with the crowd behind us – and they stayed behind us the whole game – but they successfully took the tempo out of the game.

“We have conceded seven goals now in two games which is not normal for us. It’s not just about this game, we did it as well at the weekend. We have to fix it, and we have to do it quick.

“It’s two goals, it’s still going to be very difficult, but it can’t be worse than this. We have to go there and make a big performance.

“We have to try and turn it around but it’s going to be difficult. We weren’t on top and we know that, but we have nothing to lose so we have to go there, put in a big performance and hopefully turn it around.”
