Ayew is eyeing a return to the Premier League and Forest have offered him a six-month deal.

The Ghanaian flew into the United Kingdom yesterday and is undergoing medical tests.

Everton were also keen on Ayew, but the Reds have pipped them to his services.

Forest manager Steve Cooper worked with the attacker at Swansea City, which helped the club in the race.

The City Ground club have already snapped up Chris Wood, Danilo, Gustavo Scarpa, Felipe, Jonjo Shelvey and Keylor Navas.

They made 23 additions to their squad during the summer transfer window.

Ayew is set to become their 30th signing of the season and they have put a lot of effort into staying up.

The Tricky Trees are 13th in the Premier League after 20 games, but just four points separate them from the relegation zone.

Only Everton (15) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (12) have scored fewer goals than Forest (16) this term.

Ayew’s imminent arrival should help improve their fortunes in front of goal.

He scored 21 goals in 39 matches for Al Sadd, registered 47 goals in 141 games for Swansea and ended his West Ham United spell with 12 goals in 50 matches.

Ayew brings the much-needed experience and quality to the table, and Forest have a good chance of avoiding relegation.
