L’Équipe report this evening that André Ayew is in advanced talks with Premier League relegation battlers Everton for a return to England, where he has already turned out for Swansea and West Ham.
The Ghanaian international is now a free agent, having terminated his contract with Al-Sadd a few days ago – as a result, he will be able to negotiate a contract with the Toffees beyond tonight’s deadline.
The former Marseille man had been playing in Doha for the last two years, having left Wales in 2021 after a six-year spell in British football. Everton will look to make the most of his experience, as they currently sit joint bottom of the top flight on points, with the least wins in the division, on three, and have recently replaced manager Frank Lampard with former Burnley man Sean Dyche. His best season in the top flight came in 2015/16, when he found the net 12 times.
