Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola says summer signings Alex Scott and Tyler Adams are “not close” to making their Cherries debuts.

after being linked with Chelsea and Liverpool.

Adams’ arrival followed that of highly-rated England Under-20 international Scott from Bristol City but Iraola says he does not expect to see his two new midfielders any time soon due to injury.

“I think we are not close. They need time,” Iraola said ahead of Bournemouth’s home game with Tottenham on Saturday.

“The club signed the players knowing they would be out for some games and I think Tyler should be earlier than Alex.

“But he is a player that hasn’t played I think since March. He’s coming from surgery with difficult situations in this period so we cannot rush it.

“We have to make sure that he also feels safe and he makes all the ticks before starting with us.

“Alex probably is the one who will spend more time out. But neither of them are close to playing a game right now.”

Bournemouth have made eight summer signings with additions in all departments over the pitch.

Iraola does not expect further business before next Friday’s transfer deadline unless players leave the Vitality Stadium.

He said: “Number-wise, we have the players, the numbers. Now, it will depend on the players who could leave, we’d have to substitute them.

“But the club is ready, they are ready for what the market is offering, and you never know when a good player is available.

“I think we are done – but with Alex and Tyler injured, we don’t have the numbers today.

“We will have them when they are recovered and everyone is available to play.”

Bournemouth travel to Swansea for a Carabao Cup tie in midweek between Premier League games against Tottenham and Brentford before the international break.

“Tottenham are a good team, they want to keep the ball, they try to attract you in the build up.

“It’s a game where you have to take the right decisions, when to push, when to keep your back and let’s hope we can take them.”
