Het Nieuwsblad have revealed that Anderlecht have rejected two offers for their young central defender Zeno Debast. La Liga’s Villareal and the Bundesliga’s Eintracht Frankfurt were both rebuffed by Anderlecht in their approach for Debast. The defender himself is not itching for a move away just yet, with the prospect of playing time the most important factor for him at the moment. With the 2024 Euros next summer, Debast wants to play as much as possible in order to impress Belgian head coach Domenico Tedesco.
The 19-year-old Belgian international had his breakout season with Anderlecht last campaign. After making just five appearances during the 2021/2022 season, he made 34, starting in every game he played. He also made 10 appearances in the Europa Conference League, again as a regular starter. The side see his development being aided by another season playing alongside former Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen. The 36-year-old joined the side last summer from Benfica.
