Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Anderlecht are trying to bring Sergi Canos to Belgium. The 26-year-old currently has one year left on his contract with Brentford and is looking to move on. However, Anderlecht are not the only ones interested. The report also suggests that Spanish side Valencia are also keen to sign the former Barcelona and Liverpool winger.
Canos, who has been capped at youth level by Spain, has played 249 games for Brentford during his time at the club. He scored 36 goals and provided 33 assists. He only made on appearance for Liverpool’s first team during his time on Merseyside. The majority of his appearances for Brentford have come when the side were in the Championship. Now that the side is starting to settle as a Premier League club, Canos has seen his playing time diminish.
Anderlecht are looking for another wide player due to Yari Verschaeren’s long-term injury. Rodrigo Zalazar from Schalke 04 is another player on their radar.
