LDH are reporting that both Anderlecht and Club Brugge are looking into signing BK Häcken teenager Momodou Sonko. The 18-year-old winger is a Swedish youth international but is also eligible to play for the Gambian national team. Sonko played 23 games in the Allsvenskan this past season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
Sonko has come up through the youth system at BK Häcken and made two appearances as the side won the league last season. In all competitions for the Gothenburg based side he has played 43 games, scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists. The teenager can play either as a left-winger or a right-winger.
According to LDH, the Swedish side are looking to get around €5m for the young star. As a result, Club Brugge are expected to be in a better position than Anderlecht to sign Sonko in January. Anderlecht are currently second in the table, while Club Brugge are a few spots lower in sixth place, eight points behind the Mauves.
