Coach Carlo Ancelotti resorted to Kimmich in response to those grievances. Ancelotti stated that Kimmich “dove” in a confrontation with Nacho, resulting in the disallowance of a Real Madrid goal.

Kimmich distant from Real Madrid

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo Ancelotti’s comments could impact any potential move for Kimmich to Real Madrid.

With the Bayern Munich midfielder entering the final year of his contract and Toni Kroos yet to confirm his continuity in the Spanish capital, Kimmich was considered a possible replacement.

However, that idea appears to have hit a snag after recent events and moves him closer to Barcelona, who are keen on acquiring Kimmich, provided their finances allow such a move.

The 29-year-old midfielder had even previously hailed both Real Madrid and Barcelona as ideal desintations, but Ancelotti’s public criticism of his former player Kimmich could potentially deter a move to Madrid.

Kimmich and Ancelotti not on the best of terms

It is worth noting that the recent incident could be seen as the final straw between the two, as they have had a somewhat shaky history in the past.

In a 2022 interview, Kimmich revealed that the only time he considered leaving Bayern was during the 2016-17 season due to less playing time, when Ancelotti was the coach.

Moreover, on another occasion, Kimmich said his relationship with Ancelotti was not ideal because Bayern had a very strong midfield lineup with players like Arturo Vidal, Xabi Alonso, Thiago, and Javi Martinez.
