Carlo Ancelotti rejected a new €35m deal at Everton to make the return to Real Madrid last summer.

The Italian made a surprise Goodison Park exit in June of last year, calling time on his 18-month tenure with the Blues to return to his former club in Spain.

AS journalist Joaquin Maroto is reporting Ancelotti 'gave up' a three-year contract with Everton worth €35m to sign with Madrid for 'half the money' he was being paid in England.

The report also claims that Ancelotti has Real's 'full confidence' in Ancelotti despite the recent defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico.

Real were beaten 4-0 by their arch rivals at the Santiago Bernabeu.
