On Real’s identity

“They talked about it last year when we won the Champions League. Real Madrid doesn’t have a clear identity in football, we want a team that can do whatever is asked of it.”

On possible formation change

“I really like the 4-2-3-1, especially in the defensive aspect.

“Modrić, Asensio or Rodrygo can play behind the striker. Rodrygo loves this position, it’s perfect for him We think of everything!”

On Éder Militão

“I see Militão in very good shape, with room for improvement.

“He is one of the best defenders in the world. When he is focused, he does everything. It’s definitely one of the best.”

On referees

“It is very complex work.

“VAR seems to help them, and it has helped them make decisions, but subjective decisions will always be controversial.”

On Davide Ancelotti being linked with the Everton job

“Davide wants to be a first team coach, so one day it should happen.

“But he’s happy here and I’m happy with him. The day I stop training or the day he wants to go, he can go without any trouble. But now we want to finish our business here. There’s an unfinished business.”

On Vinícius Junior’s form

“Vinicius still wants to play. He worked very hard, he runs a lot, he makes mistakes, but he scores.”

On Real Sociedad

“Real Sociedad is a team that plays very well and has a good dynamic. The match requires full concentration as they are playing very well.”
