Ancelotti keen to lead Everton into new stadium in 2024 | OneFootball

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he’s keen to be the man to lead Everton into their new stadium in 2024, after plans for it to be built were approved this week.

Although Goodison Park has been the home of the Toffees since 1892, the club are looking to move with the times and construct a new home in the coming years.

As was greenlighted this week, Everton are set to build their new 52,000 seater, ‘Bramley-Moore Dock’ Stadium in the next few years, with the hopes of moving into the arena permanently in 2024.

A historic and successful club, the Toffees are one of just a handful of clubs never to have been relegated from the Premier League and have made positive progress since the arrival of Ancelotti as manager.

Everton currently sit seventh in the Premier League as they seek to secure European qualification, Champions League football emerging as a real possibility with the club just five points adrift of the top four with a game in hand.

Ancelotti’s men are also through to the last eight of the FA Cup and face Manchester City in the quarter-finals next month as they look to win a first major trophy since 1995.

The Italian appears to have revitalised both the club and the fanbase, with his side’s recent win over Liverpool securing a first victory over their Merseyside rivals at Anfield in more than two decades.

Already a hugely popular figure among supporters, the 61-year-old is hoping to remain at the club over the next few years and insists he wants to be the man to lead the team into a new era and new stadium.

“I would like to be there when the new stadium is opened,” he said. “It will be a good achievement for me.

“To finish the contract here in 2024 means that you did a good job and when you do a good job the contract will not be stopped in 2024. It will continue. The time I spent here is one year and I have felt really good so I would like to stay as long as possible.”
