Carlo Ancelotti, Thibaut Courtois and Rudy Fernández took centre stage at the Premios As de 2022 awards ceremony, which was held at the Hotel Palace in Madrid. The three all picked up accolades in the Premio As del Deporte category, which acknowledges the most significant feats of the year, with Rafa Nadal, Real Madrid Honorary member also picking up an award. The Italian coach and the goalkeeper have won four titles in 2022: the Champions League, LaLiga, European Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup. Ancelotti also achieved two historic feats, becoming the first coach ever to lift four European Cups and the only coach to have won all of Europe's top five leagues.

Courtois played a key role in Real Madrid's four titles with some crucial saves. He enjoyed a particularly outstanding role in the final which yielded the Decimocuarta against Liverpool, being named Player of the Match. His impressive performances saw him scoop the Yashin Trophy as the best goalkeeper in the world at the recent Ballon d'Or gala. Ancelotti received the prize on his behalf.
