Ana María Guzmán suffered an injury to the cartilage of her right knee while training with the Colombia national team during the last international break. The 18-year-old underwent an operation on Friday and will soon begin her recovery. Guzmán will be unavailable for FC Bayern Women for several months.
Bianca Rech, head of FC Bayern Women, expressed the club’s full support to Guzmán: “It’s very hard news for a player as young as Ana. But we’ll stand by her and help her on her journey to recovery as best we can.”
