If you’re not a Feyenoord fan, maybe you haven’t heard the name Santiago Giménez until now.

At just 22, the Mexico international has made headlines in the Eredivisie with a league-leading 13 goals this season.

And his brace against Lazio in the UEFA Champions League means Giménez has the most goals in Europe’s top seven leagues and the UCL this season.

All 15 goals have arrived in his last nine matches for the club. But the impressive stats don’t stop there!

Wednesday’s opener was his first goal in the competition, and he is the third Feyenoord player to score twice in a UCL match alongside Julio Cruz (1997, 1999) and Jon Dahl Tomasson (2000).

Giménez is also the second Mexican to score on his Champions League debut, after Edson Álvarez in 2019 for Ajax.

The question is how high can he go?!
