Manchester United have contacted Paris Saint-Germain about signing striker Randal Kolo Muani on loan for the rest of the season in January, according to French outlet Le10Sport.
New manager Ruben Amorim wants to trust the France international with the task of leading the line, and talks are expected to continue until the end of the year.
Man United striking duo Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to impress this term, and it appears the new boss wants Kolo Muani as a plan ‘B’.
The PSG star wants to remain at the Ligue 1 club to continue fighting and proving himself after falling down the pecking order, but a move to Man United could appeal to him.
Kolo Muani has scored two goals in 12 games across all competitions for PSG this season, but he has started only twice.
His form for France has been impressive, with three goals and one assist in his last five international appearances.
The Frenchman bagged 12 goals and six assists in 44 games last term and was involved in 40 goals in 46 games in 2022-23 while with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Amorim appears to be a fan of the 25-year-old and a loan deal with an option to buy will be great for all parties. Man United are desperate not to break Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Hojlund and Zirkzee have scored three goals between them this season, and signing another forward could be the best solution if United want to finish in the top four at the end of the season.
