Ruben Amorim has said he is not worried about his position at Manchester United despite the club’s latest loss to Tottenham.

James Maddison scored the only goal of the game as an injury-hit Manchester United were beaten in North London on Sunday. The visitors missed several clear-cut chances to earn a result, with Alejandro Garnacho guilty of blazing the best chance over the bar.

Defeat was United’s 12th of the Premier League campaign and leaves the Red Devils 15th in the table. Amorim cited a lack of quality in the final third as the reason for the club’s latest loss, one that extends the club’s record under his management to just four wins from 14 Premier League games.

Despite a stuttering start to his reign. Amorim insisted he is not worried about his position at Old Trafford.

“It was the difference of the game, they scored and we didn’t. We had the opportunities. We had situations in transitions, trying to get a result, but in the end they scored and we didn’t” Amorim said to BBC Match of the Day.

“We want to recover the players, I think we can recover some players for the next game. We have to be together to finish the season and start over.”

On whether he feels his job could come under threat, Amorim added: “I am not worried. I understand our fans, what the media think about it. I hate to lose, that feeling is the worst.

“The rest I am not thinking about. I am here to help my players. I understand my situation, my job, I am confident on my work and I just want to win games.

“The place in the table is my worry, I am not worried about me.”
