FC Schalke 04 have agreed to loan Amine Harit to Europa League participants Olympique Marseille for the 2021/22 season without an option to buy. The deal was officially confirmed by the French FA on Thursday. The clubs have agreed that the financial details of the deal will remain undisclosed. The 24-year-old Moroccan still has a contract with the Royal Blues that runs until 2023/24.

“The decision to loan Amine Harit out to Marseille has several dimensions,” explained sporting director Rouven Schröder. “One aspect is that we will save a lot of money this season through the loan move. We also have the development of his market value in mind; in an ideal scenario, he will spend this season as a regular at a European club, and then we can offer him out to the transfer market next summer when it hopefully is also less affected by corona. We would like to wish Amine all the best for the next year in Marseille.”
