On Monday, América flew to Portland, Oregon, to prepare for the first leg of their Concacaf Champions League quarter-final tie against MLS outfit Portland Timbers.

The Timbers advanced to this stage of the tournament with a 7-2 aggregate (2-2, 5-0) victory over Honduran outfit Marathón, while the Eagles took down fellow Hondurans Olimpia, advancing on away goals after winning the first leg 2-1 and dropping the second match 1-0.

Sebastián Córdova and Emanuel Aguilera did not make the trip with the team as both must recover from their respective injuries.

The rest of the squad will be available, so, unlike Sunday’s game, an XI with the majority of starters is expected, and it will be Solari’s decision who will be the two players who will occupy the positions of the injured duo.

The first leg of the contest will take place on Wednesday, while the two clubs will battle at the Estadio Azteca a week later.
