While many teams around Liga MX have already been able to reopen their stadiums and receive the support of the public in the stands, Club América have not been one of them.
Fortunately for the Eagles, this is about to change as the Estadio Azteca will be allowed to open up at a limited capacity for their Liguilla clash.
With the ‘epidemiological traffic light’ changing to yellow in Mexico City, the Estadio Azteca administration issued a statement on Friday.
The Azteca will allow fans to return at 30% capacity or roughly 25,000 people for América’s quarter-final Liguilla clash, as well as Cruz Azul.
It should be remembered that the first Liga MX match to play without an audience due to Covid-19 was one of América.
