As a result, the 25-year-old defensive midfielder has not made the trip north from Mexico City.

Roger Martínez is in the squad, despite numerous reports linking the striker with an imminent departure from the Azulcrema.

Should Martínez feature at the Estadio BBVA, he would then be unable to sign for another Liga MX club this season and would have to be sold to a foreign side.

Emanuel Aguilera and Nicolás Benedetti, who have been out of action since both being injured in the Guard1anes 2020 quarter-final against Chivas, are not yet fit enough to be considered for selection.
