Granada forward Darwin Machís has piqued the interest of Club América since last season but the financial difficulties related to the pandemic made it nearly impossible for the Eagles to pursue him.
According to the TUDN journalist, Daniel Nohra, América have not forgotten about the Venezuela international and hope to make a deal in the European January window.
Though Granada’s asking price used to be around $10m, Nohra claims that Granada have already rejected an offer from MLS and could accept an offer of just $5m from the Eagles.
The 28-year-old is only under contract for 18 more months and has could be one of América’s top priorities as Joao Rojas will not be coming to Mexico City.
So far this season, Machís has two goals and an assist in 12 games in all competitions, including a big goal in last week’s upset of Atlético Madrid.
