América will begin their pre-season training on Monday as manager Santiago Solari prepares for his second campaign in charge of Las Águilas.
The Azulcrema were impressive during Guard1anes 2021, finishing second in the regular season table before losing out on away goals in a dramatic quarter-final against Pachuca.
All senior players are expected to report for duty, with the exception of those with international commitments.
That means that Guillermo Ochoa, Jorge Sánchez, Richard Sánchez (Paraguay), Sebastián Córdova, and Henry Martín will be delayed in linking back up with the squad.
The first order of business will be medical testing.
Solari’s charges will head north to the United States for three friendlies against Santos Laguna, Atlas, and Tigres in early July.
The 2021 Apertura is scheduled to start on July 22, while América will also face Philadelphia Union in a two-legged Concacaf Champions League semi-final in August/September.
