América striker Nicolás Castillo has been linked with a move to Brazilian side Juventude in a bid to revive his career.
The 28-year-old has endured a torrid 18 months since he was struck by a life-threatening thrombosis in his right thigh.
Thankfully the Chile international has fully recovered from that scare, but it has unfortunately ruined his hopes of an extended stint with the Azulcrema.
Castillo did feature in pre-season friendlies for Las Águilas, but manager Santiago Solari does not see him in his future plans and the player has been actively looking for a new club.
According to TUDN, Juventude are interested in his services after their pursuit of Colo-Colo’s Nicolás Blandi fell through.
Castillo has under a year left on his contract with América, and the report said it is not yet known if the Brasileirão side envisage a permanent move or merely a loan deal.
Juve could certainly do with some more firepower up front.
The Caxias do Sul outfit have scored just 13 goals in their 16 league games to date this season, which is a major factor in why they lie 13th in a 20-team division.
