On Wednesday, América finally announced that they have activated the purchase option for Álvaro Fidalgo.
On Twitter, América confirmed that the Spanish midfielder, who arrived at the beginning of the 2021 Guard1anes 2021, will be under contract at América until 2025.
It’s believed that América purchased the player from CD Castellón for $1m, with another $1m going to Real Madrid per the original agreement.
In total, Fidalgo played 1,293 minutes in 16 games in all competitions, becoming an unexpected jewel for the Liga MX giants under Santiago Solari.
It’s believed that Solari is currently going after another player he took to the Real Madrid first-team, with rumours claiming that América have opened talks to land Cristo from Udinese.
