Club América are already experiencing a somewhat complicated situation as they have only earned a single point from their first two games of the Liga MX season following their 2-0 defeat against champions Atlas.
After losing to Monterrey in the Concacaf Champions League final, the Eagles have failed to win a game and are currently on a rare seven-match winless run in all competitions.
The last time that Club América found themselves outside the top-10 through matchday 3 was back during the 2017 Clausura tournament.
América lost their first two games: 2-1 against Toluca on Matchday 2 and 4-2 against Tigres on Matchday 3, placing them in 18th place.
They too had a match in hand that season but failed to reach the Liguilla, coming in ninth place that season.
