Bayer Leverkusen have began looking for Jeremie Frimpong replacements and Arthur of América MG in Brazil is the latest candidate linked with the Bundesliga club, reports Kicker.
Frimpong can leave in the summer and is open to the idea of leaving Leverkusen after joining the club in 2021 from Celtic. This has caused Leverkusen to look at potential replacements and Arthur is seen as a hot contender for die Werkself. Leverkusen have also shown interest in Ivan Fresneda who was a topic at Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
The 19-year-old has already played seven times for América MG and played in the recent U20 Copa America, which he won, with Brazil.
Replacing Frimpong leaves big shoes to fill as the 22-year-old has been one of Leverkusen’s stand-out players this season. Frimpong has scored five times and assisted four in the league and was their best player in the first half under Gerardo Seoane before he was replaced by Xabi Alonso.
