América are reportedly considering the possibility of offloading Nicolás Benedetti before the transfer window closes.

The 24-year-old midfielder has failed to impress manager Santiago Solari, and is not expected to be involved in the current Apertura campaign.

With the Azulcrema currently carrying the maximum number of foreign players allowed in their squad, getting the Colombian off the books would certainly give Solari more flexibility in terms of potential new arrivals.

The news was tweeted by Fox Sports reporter Carlos Rodrigo Hernández.

“Even though in America they have the full quota of foreigners, they do not rule out the possibility of listening to offers by Nicolás Benedetti,” Hernández posted.

“The closing of registrations is 22 September. Could it be that for matchday 9 we will see another reinforcement in Coapa?”

Benedetti, whose time at Las Águilas has been plagued by injuries, has only made 41 appearances (seven goals, three assists) in all competitions since joining from Deportivo Cali in January 2019.
