The Eagles won their fourth match in a row and are currently in sixth place eyeing a potential first-round bye, a huge contrast from just a couple of weeks ago when many wondered whether or not they would make the post-season.

Richard Sánchez gave the hosts an early lead after his free-kick took a wicked deflection off the wall, giving goalkeeper Rodolfo Cota absolutely no chance.

Unbelievably, through an unfortunate series of events, León, who came in level on points with América, finished with just eight men on the pitch.

Their first sending off came just before the half-time whistle, as José Rodríguez was given a second yellow for a dangerous challenge following a VAR check.

It went from bad to worse in the 55th minute when Víctor Dávila was sent off after barraging the referee with insults.

The Eagles took full advantage of the situation and scored through Alejandro Zandejas just 11 minutes later following a Sánchez assist.

Finally, William Tesillo picked up his second yellow just minutes before the final whistle, adding insult to injury in what proved to be a horrible night for León.
