Guido Rodríguez’s move to Real Betis has left a hole in América’s midfield and young Uruguayan Nicolás Acevedo has emerged as the man they want to fill it.
Las Aguilas were recently linked with Flamengo’s Robert Piris De Motta, with the Paraguay international earmarked to take over the defensive midfield duties from the departed Rodríguez.
However, América’s focus seems to have switched to 20-year-old Acevedo.
Talks between the Apertura finalists and Uruguayan Primera División side Liverpool have been going well.
Acevedo is currently away with the Uruguay U23 team as they prepare for Olympic qualification games.
