It was utter dominance from Las Águilas from the opening whistle, taking control of the possession and seemingly refusing to concede it back to the hosts.

An opening goal from USMNT man Alejandro Zendejas, gave América some reward for the efforts, and things went from good to great when Brayan Angulo was sent off for a deliberate hand-ball later in the first-half.

The match was seemingly put to bed when Henry Martín scored on the rebound of the resulting free-kick.

But the away side was made to sweat in the dying minutes when second-half substitute Ricardo Marín pulled one back Puebla, though it was merely consolation in the end.

The victory sees América remain unbeaten on the campaign, and move back into the top spot heading into the weekend.
