MIAMI, Florida – The 2023 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League semifinals wrapped up with two very compelling matches. There were a number of excellent individual performances over the course of the games, yet these 11 players stood out the most at their respective positions.

GK John McCarthy, Los Angeles FC – McCarthy keeps racking up the Best XI nods after another clean sheet outing in LAFC’s 3-0 win over Philadelphia. McCarthy had two saves and two clearances on the night.

DF William Tesillo, Club Leon – Tesillo delivered one of the most decisive moments of Club Leon’s 3-1 win against Tigres, flicking a header to the back post for Adonis Frias’ series-winning goal. Tesillo also had a steal on the night.

DF Adonis Frias, Club Leon – Frias was the hero in scoring the goal that decided the tie with Tigres, but he also had a steal and completed 88 percent of his passes.

DF Aaron Long, Los Angeles FC – Long has been an anchor in the back for LAFC and was once again outstanding against the Union with two steals while completing 25 of 28 passes.

MF Lucas Romero, Club Leon – No player had more steals in the semifinal second legs than Romero’s eight takeaways against Tigres. He also completed 90 percent of his passes.

MF Timothy Tillman, Los Angeles FC – Tillman’s early goal for LAFC proved to be the deciding score to propel LAFC to the Final.

MF Raymundo Fulgencio, Tigres – Fulgencio came off the bench to replace injured attacking star Luis Quinones and more than shouldered the burden with a fantastic goal.

MF Fidel Ambriz, Club Leon – The 20-year-old continues to impress and flashed his quality with a long-range strike for Club Leon’s first goal of the game. He also had two steals.

MF Angel Mena, Club Leon – Mena showed the hunger of wanting to reach a first ever SCCL Final by scoring Club Leon’s second goal of the night. He finished the game with 47 of 50 passes completed and two steals.

FW Denis Bouanga, Los Angeles FC – The 2023 SCCL’s top scorer added another goal to his tally, giving him six in the tournament. Bouanga tacked on two steals and had seven shots.

FW Carlos Vela, Los Angeles FC – Vela was at his usual best, supplying an assist while also completing 18 passes.
