It’s hard to believe that Fernando Torres hung up his boots just over a year ago.
The Spaniard’s career was the ultimate rollercoaster ride – winning everything with Spain, becoming an Atlético Madrid and Liverpool icon, and who can ever forget that famous goal for Chelsea against Barcelona after he was already labelled a flop.
Now, we get to relive his journey through his eyes and his words. On Friday, Amazon Prime announced the imminent release of a new documentary called Fernando Torres – The Last Symbol.
You can watch the trailer below. The documentary will be available to stream on 18 September.
“This is the story of my life. So short but yet so lengthy,” Torres said about The Last Symbol.
“This documentary is a journey through more than twenty years of my life and I hope the watching audience will get to know me better by watching it.
“It includes my good and not so good moments, unveiling some of my best-kept secrets and showing the real-life evolution of a dream come true.”
Torres would win the Europa League with Atlético in his final season of European football, capping off his career with a brace just four days later before spending his final season as a professional in Japan with Sagan Tosu.
