In cooperation with the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad, SV Werder have assisted in the creation of educational materials that are used by institutions such as Chu Van An High School, a Goethe Institute school. On Saturday, several of the women’s team took to the pitch with the students, while another group of players assisted with a Football Development Training session with footballing partner VJSS.

While at the school, the Green-Whites led a session with children ranging in age from nine to 13 years old. The children were all eager to learn, which made the session both easy and enjoyable for the players to run. “It was a lot of fun because they really got involved,” said Lara Schmidt. “We were surprised at how good they were!”
Afterwards, Schmidt & Co. took part in a question and answer session, before handing out gifts to the participants. “It was nice to see how grateful they were,” said Schmidt. “Overall, it was great fun.”
Sophie Weidauer was able to draw similar conclusions from the Football Development Training session. SVW have been working closely with VJSS since summer 2023, organising hybrid training session for children in Vietnam. “The kids were having so much fun,” Weidauer said, who was helping out as a coach. “To have players from the Bundesliga visit us here in Hanoi is amazing for everyone involved. We’re proud to partner with Werder and the development of our coaches continues to steadily improve. Thank you to everyone that made this possible,” said Hoai Anh Nguyen, founder of VJSS.
