Is Son back for Spurs

The 31-year-old certainly is back and he will surely be in Ange Postecoglou’s thinking for the starting XI against Wolves on Saturday.

Having come on just after the hour mark last weekend, Son was able to provide the Lilywhites with a moment of magic with his cross for the winning goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And it appears the forward has a strong relationship with the 22-year-old who he provided the assist for last weekend.

Speaking on the club’s YouTube channel, Son admitted he feels Johnson has a huge future ahead of him: “I mean, Brennan is a fantastic guy and also a fantastic player. He has an amazing future on him. But me and Brennan has an amazing, very close relationship.

“Brennan is still young, I want to help as much as I can because we are almost a similar player type and we play almost same same position, that I want to share my experience to him because I think he can be one of the greatest players I think for his country, but also for Spurs. So he’s always asking me questions what to do and you know, this is makes me very, very proud and very happy.”

How much was Brennan Johnson

Johnson made the move to north London in the summer from Nottingham Forest in a deal believed to be worth in the region of £47.5m.

A big price tag to pay for a player who had just one season of Premier League football under his belt and still of just 22 years of age.

And – perhaps it should’ve been expected – it was a slow start to life in north London for Johnson who took until November to find the back of the net.

It then took him a further two months before he was able to score his second for Spurs, but now he has two in his last three league games.

Much like Radu Dragusin’s own mother has hinted at towards her son, patience is likely to be a big factor with the Welshman.

Three goals and four assists now to his name and some huge praise from his captain who is seemingly providing him with a lot of pointers at Hotspur Way.
