Amar Dedić set to leave Marseille and return to Red Bull Salzburg

According to a report from L’Équipe, Olympique de Marseille are set to let go of Bosnian prospect Amar Dedić (22) who has struggled to impose himself in Roberto De Zerbi’s side with just under the 12 appearances needed to trigger a mandatory buy clause. Even as his temperament is reportedly appreciated within the dressing room and by club executives, Dedić has become little more than a spectator in OM’s late-season charge. The 22-year-old was left out entirely against Montpellier (5-1), an unused substitute against Brest (4-1), and again overlooked in the closing stages in Lille. Despite being able to play on either flank, the shift back to a four-man defence under Roberto De Zerbi has limited opportunities for the more attack-minded wing-back.Dedić’s arrival on deadline day was meant to provide depth and attacking thrust out wide. The original plan was a loan with an option to buy – €1.5m paid upfront, with a €10m clause to be triggered automatically if he featured in at least half of OM’s matches. But with Salzburg having already hit their loan limit, a workaround was found: a permanent deal for €1m, plus a further €10m in bonuses if Dedić reached 50% of minutes played, with Salzburg retaining a buy-back clause if he failed to meet that threshold.GFFN | George Boxall
