Amad Diallo reveals Pogba is the reason behind his Manchester United move

Amad Diallo speaks out on Paul Pogba influence in joining Manchester United

According to MEN, Amad Diallo has explained the role Paul Pogba played in his decision to join Manchester United. The Ivorian starlet spoke about how the World Cup winner was an inspiration behind his switch to the Theatre of Dreams.

The youngster arrived with huge expectations and it is fair to say that he appears to be the real deal. He made eight appearances for United, scoring one goal and making another assist after arriving from Atalanta in the second half of the season. (h/t Transfermarkt)

While he is still a work in progress, there have been enough moments to indicate he could have a long and successful stay at the Theatre of Dreams. Amad has not stopped impressing even after the season is over. He is playing a starring role with Ivory Coast.

Nonetheless, Amad spoke about what inspired him to join United. It was none other than our own Paul Pogba.

“I met him when I was a kid at that trial at Juventus. After the session, they asked me who I would like to have a photo with, and I asked for Paul. He was my idol! Then, when I received the bid from United and I realised that Paul was here, I didn’t have to think twice and I wanted to come here straight away. “To be playing with him five years later is incredible. I could not possibly ever imagine it happening. But these things happen once in a lifetime and, when such occasions come along, you have to seize them. To play with Paul five years later is unbelievable, and hard to describe, really.”

Pogba is indeed an inspiring figure due to his accomplishments. The midfielder has won a lot of trophies at the club level and international arena. Amad will get more chances over the next season to prove his mettle but he will have to grab them.
