Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal at Old Trafford to all but dash the Reds’ hopes of Europa League qualification through a league finish.

A Leandro Trossard goal in the 20th minute of proceedings was all it took to seal United’s fate and pile further misery on Erik ten Hag and his players.

United had the lion’s share of possession (55%) compared to Arsenal (45%).

The Red Devils registered just two shots on target from their total 14 cracks at goal. The Gunners on the other hand had 11 total shots, with five of these requiring Andre Onana to swing into action.

Ten Hag’s men put together 513 passes with a pass completion rate of 86%. Meanwhile, Arsenal strung 430 passes with a success rate of 83%.

One of United’s better performers was Amad Diallo. The forward was the surprise inclusion in Ten Hag’s starting XI, with many expecting Antony or the just-returned Marcus Rashford to be given the nod instead.

During the time he was on the pitch, Amad successfully won all the two tackles he put in.

The Ivorian also found his intended target with all two of the long balls he pinged. The winger delivered 23 of the 25 passes he attempted, registering an individual ass accuracy of 92%.

He won six of the 13 ground duels he delved into.

Amad completed three of the five dribbles he embarked on – the most of any player on the pitch. He also created two chances.

Unfortunately for Amad, he picked up an injury in the 68th minute which forced him off.

However, he still made his point to Ten Hag that he deserved significantly more playing time going forward – at least ahead of someone like Antony.
