Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is being inundated with prediction requests on social media after his remarkable prediction ahead of the Champions League semi-final first leg between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid came to pass.

Madrid, 14-time winners of the Champions League, earned a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena with Vinicius Junior scoring twice and Leroy Sane and Harry Kane netting for the hosts.

It was a thrilling contest and one which leaves the second leg on a knife edge ahead of the Santiago Bernabeu next week.

Ahead of the first leg, Sturridge predicted that Sane would be a “big problem” for Madrid and that the Germany international would score. He also tipped Kane for a penalty.

It was an unbelievable shout with both events coming to pass.

Sane gave Ferland Mendy and Nacho Fernandez trouble all evening, turning the Madrid backline inside out before lashing a strong shot past Andriy Lunin in the first half.

Kane was on hand to score his 43rd goal of the season in his 43rd Bayern game, continuing his record-breaking individual campaign since moving from Tottenham.

“Sane will be a big problem tonight,” Sturridge wrote on social media site X, formerly Twitter, just before kickoff. “Goal for him and a pen for Kane.”

Afterwards, Sturridge’s feed was littered with various voices asking their newfound Oracle to weigh in on their own matters.

“What's happening at Wembley big bro?,” one Manchester United fan asked with one eye on the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

“Am I getting a girlfriend this year mate?,” queried a lonely-heart Arsenal supporter.

“Can you tell me the exact game that city will drop points please?,” wrote another.

It’s anyone’s guess who will go through to face either Paris Saint-Germain or Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final with five-time winners Bayern determined to end the season on a high having missed out on the Bundesliga title to Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen.

Los Blancos, meanwhile, are hoping to add an unprecedented 15th European crown to their collection to go alongside the LaLiga trophy which will be coming their way imminently.

Madrid are only going to get stronger with Kylian Mbappe widely expected to join on a free transfer and the signing of Brazilian teen sensation Endrick already wrapped up.

Sturridge was a member of the Liverpool squad which won the 2019 Champions League, becoming the first English player to win the cup with two different English clubs.
