Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has put out a fresh and positive update on Xavi Simons to Chelsea this summer window.

OK, so I say update, it’s really one of his non-updates but at the same time, it actually is a very positive update as well.

Many have held belief that because all we have been hearing about this week is Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United to Chelsea, that this was now the priority and Chelsea were trying to sign him instead of Xavi Simons and not as well as. But that would be incorrect, according to Romano at least who’s updates we can see further below in a sec.

Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea looks dead set to happen this window, with Fabrizio Romano putting his latest daily post out on that last night, saying Chelsea have stepped up talks to sign the Manchester United winger.

Chelsea need a new centre back though, especially the fact that key defender Levi Colwill now looks set to miss most of the season due to an ACL injury. But will they sign one? I’m not so sure. Enzo Maresca has made it very clear in public that he wants the club to sign one though.

Anyways, I digressed, back to Xavi Simons to Chelsea.

Romano has just posted this on X, and I deem this as very positive….

“Chelsea mantain contacts active for Xavi Simons among main targets… while they also negotiate for Garnacho.

“The two topics remain separate as always reported and Xavi’s priority remains Chelsea move.

“Discussions ongoing again this week with RB Leipzig.”

So there you have it

The two are seen as separate and Chelsea are going for Simons as well as Garnacho!
