Club América midfielder Álvaro Fidalgo spoke about the idea of staying to play in Liga MX and his feelings about the last few months.

New manager Santiago Solari personally requested that his former Real Madrid student join América on loan from LaLiga 2 side CD Castellón.

Since his arrival, the Spaniard has been awfully impressive, becoming an instrumental piece in Solari’s starting XI, having won every match he’s featured in for the Eagles (not including the Atlas forfeit).

“My main objective is to be champion with the club,” he said.

“That is the reality of what I want, and if I can stay here, then I will be delighted.

“I am very happy here, I am enjoying my football, and I am enjoying my team-mates.

“I am very excited every day to come to training, so right now my short-term goal is to stay here and, for now, I don’t have anything else to think about.”

Fidalgo has finally been able to contribute offensively, dishing out a whopping three assists over his last two games against Olimpia and Tigres.
