West Ham United entertained Freiburg at the London Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure a win at home in the UEFA Europa League. The Hammers made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 14th minute when Mohammed Kudus found the back of the net. Edson Alvarez doubled his team’s advantage in the 42nd minute as David Moyes’ men went into the half-time interval 2-0 to the good.

The East London club controlled the game well in the second half and earned an impressive 2-0 win in front of their home fans.

LB: Emerson Palmieri – 7/10

He kept things tidy at the back and made a couple of driving runs with the ball on the left flank.

CM: Tomas Soucek – 7/10

Soucek earned the ball back multiple times for his team and offered decent protection for his backline.

CM: Edson Alvarez – 8/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field and has got a goal and an assist to show for his efforts.

CM: James Ward-Prowse – 6.5/10

Ward-Prowse came back to defend when needed but failed to impress in the opponent’s half.

RW: Mohammed Kudus – 7/10

Kudus managed to catch the eye at times and was responsible for scoring the opening goal in the 14th minute.

He created some decent openings for others around him and ended the game with an assist to his name.
