Leeds United boss Daniel Farke feels United States manager Mauricio Pochettino showed trust in Whites star Brenden Aaronson by playing him for a full match.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder is currently away on international duty and new USA boss Pochettino started him in both matches.

Aaronson played the full match against Mexico this morning in a 2-0 loss and Farke’s side are set to take on Sheffield United on Friday night.

The Leeds boss feels that it is selfish to wish for Aaronson to play fewer minutes in his country’s colours.

Farke sees the positive in it and he feels that Pochettino trusts the Whites man and that is why he did not take Aaronson off the pitch.

“It is also a sign of trust, that he [Pochettino] trusts in our player”, Farke told a press conference about Pochettino not substituting Aaronson today.

“It is also a sign that we have done something right and Brenden has done something right last week, that he wanted him to play the whole 93 minutes, to stay on the pitch and help with the best possible outcome.

“Of course, a bit selfish for us to wish for less minutes, less load.

“Especially regarding he just played early morning and has travel.”

Aaronson will travel back to England from Mexico and it remains to be seen if he will be able to play against the Blades on Friday night.
